POOLSIDE ELEGANCE
The surrounding park-like setting influenced all major design decisions. The pool area is integrated seamlessly in a celebration of, rather than in competition with, the existing landscape. One of the most important design elements on this site is the lawn. As it winds through the step stones and arround the terrace, runs through the step stones and extends outward to the mature border planting, it creates connectivity and movement and reinforces the site's overall harmony.
All lines within the pool area are strongly geometric and sculptured resulting in a sophisticated look. A classically shaped terrace located at the far end of the pool functions as an entertaining space. Some relief from the sun is provided by two large patio umbrellas. The smaller, raised bluestone terrace offers a more intimate conversation and dining space and has a portable overhead canopy to offer respite from the midday sun.
